Round 5: Bovington, 13-14 September

Mike Moran took his second win of the season at Bovington after long-time event leader Martin Cox suffered engine problems on his final run.

Cox and Ryan Cooke exchanged fastest times on day one but Cooke was forced out with a broken radiator, giving Cox an overnight lead of over two minutes. The engine on Cox’s car was consuming ever-increasing amounts of oil and eventually let go just after the start of his final run, handing the win to Moran.

“It’s been a great weekend and it is a privilege to race at a venue usually used by our Armed Forces,” said Moran. “I’m sorry for Martin, he drove exceptionally well and deserved to win.” Andy Powell finished second in his Simmbugghini – his best ever result. In third was Mark Jacques, another driver achieving his highest position.
