Round 8: Robin Jager Trial (Northern Phoenix Trials Car Club), 14 September 2014

Peter and Liz Fensom won the first event after the summer break, the Robin Jager Trial held at the vast Gale Hall site near Melmerby.

Simon Kingsley, with son Matthew in the passenger seat, took second place to move into sixth spot in the points standings. By finishing third, Ian Bell – with passenger Russell Sharp – continues to lead the championship, which he last won in 2011.

The Intermediate Class was won by Peter McKinney (Crosslé) and the Novice Class by Richard Sharp (Cartwright). Borrowing the Kincraft he sold in the summer, Robin Jager competed in his last ever sporting trial after a 56-year career, finishing in the top 10 overall as the best live axle car.
