After his misfortunes last weekend, Tiago Monteiro has no concerns heading into Shanghai, the tenth round of the FIA World Touring Car Championship, WTCC, which will take place on October 12th. After the excellent performances displayed by the Honda Civic in Beijing, which unfortunately did not translate into good results, the Portuguese driver is confident that he can capitalize on both his and the team's potential in Shanghai.
"The Honda Civic has taken a step forward at all levels. It is now closer to the performance of our rivals," ensures Tiago. "We are more capable of fighting for wins and this was also evident last weekend. We will work with the team to get there in Shanghai. I am very motivated and determined to seize every opportunity I can to get on the podium, however the long straights on the Shanghai circuit do not particularly go in our favor."
The Portuguese driver is still in fourth place in the championship, a position he plans on keeping. "At this stage, it is important to consolidate this position and finish the season with the best possible results," said the driver of the Honda Civic # 18.
The Shanghai round will be broadcast by Eurosport, with qualifying on Saturday, October 11 at 6:30 am, and all the racing on Sunday the 12th at 7:45 and 8:45.
