Murphy Prototypes ready to finish 2014 on a high in Estoril ELMS

Murphy Prototypes are aiming to finish 2014 with another podium at the final round of the 2014 European Le Mans Series at Estoril in Portugal this weekend.Fresh off the back of their long overdue visit to the podium at Paul Ricard, confidence is at an all time high approaching the final round of what has been a challenging season for the Irish team. Regularly setting the pace of the field at almost every round this season, the Hertz Car Sales supported outfit has suffered more than its fair share of bad luck, robbing them of many a race victory.Returning to the team for the final weekend after his sensational debut onto the Sportscar scene at Paul Ricard is Brazilian Formula 3 star, Pipo Derani. Starting the race in Paul Ricard, Derani stunned many an onlooker at the French circuit during the opening laps of the race confidently leading the field. Joining Pipo in Estoril will be Tony Wells and James Littlejohn. The experienced Pro-Am pairing have enjoyed considerable success together racing Radicals this year while also finishing inside the top six at the opening round of the ELMS in Silverstone earlier this season.Greg Murphy – Team Owner, Murphy Prototypes:“Having been the fastest car of the field again at Paul Ricard where we were finally rewarded with a podium finish, I am really looking forward to Estoril where we are aiming to return to the podium again. Pipo made a great start to his career here at Murphy Prototypes and will be joined by Tony and James this weekend. I think our driver line up will be strong once again and hopefully we can give our guests from Trend Micro something to celebrate and end the season on a positive note!”Round 5, the final round of the 2014 European Le Mans Series gets underway at 13:30 GMT on Sunday 19th October at Estoril with live coverage on Motors TV.
