WTCC: Tiago Monteiro at Suzuka for Honda's home race‏

The penultimate round of the 2014 FIA World Touring Car Championship, WTCC, takes place this coming weekend in Honda territory, the Suzuka circuit in Japan, a track where Tiago Monteiro and his team are aiming to shine.

Activities promoting the event have already begun with Tiago Monteiro being a major player in various events with fans and Honda workers. For the Portuguese driver this is one of the most important weekends on the calendar and following his podium finish in China, ambitions are high for this event. "I'd like to reward our Japanese fans as well as the entire structure with another podium finish for Honda. I know that will not be easy because although we are better in competitive terms, we also have an added 10kg of ballast. Therefore, it will be harder to do... but it won't be impossible!" said Tiago.

The Suzuka event will have the distinction of using the long version of the track, which brings back good memories for Tiago: "This layout is exceptional and makes me remember the moments in F1," he explained. "In competitive terms it should be excellent and I look forward to getting the Honda Civic on track. Regardless of what will happen, I know it will be a weekend of strong emotions."

A weekend not to be missed and will be broadcasted on Eurosport. Saturday qualifying will be shown at 7.30 am and Sunday's races at 5.15 and 6.15 in the morning.
