(SPEEDWAY 2 – FRIDAY PREVIEW)

SOMERSET promoter Debbie Hancock expects this weekend’s Premier League Grand Final to follow the pattern of previous meetings this season between the Rebels and Edinburgh.Somerset won 57-35 at home when the teams met in the league stage, but the Monarchs gained revenge 55-39 at Armadale. The Grand Final starts at the Oaktree Arena on Friday with the return back at Edinburgh 24 hours later, and it is a repeat of the 2013 Final which was won by Somerset.Hancock said: “This is what we have been battling for all season. Having won the title last year, we are determined to make a successful defence of our crown, but by the same token Edinburgh will be looking to avenge last year’s Final defeat.“Our two matches against Edinburgh already this year have shown that there is little to choose between the two sides on aggregate and there is no reason to believe that the Final will be any different.”Edinburgh boss Alex Harkess said: “Our excellent record throughout the season counts for nothing now, we’ve got to go out in these two matches and prove, once again, that we are the best. With a big crowd behind us on Saturday night I’m sure we can.”
