Álvaro Fontes and Toni Forne are ready for the decisive round in the Radical European Masters at the wheel of the Radical SR3 entered by Speed Factory Racing. After a long season of ups and downs, starting at Nürburgring in May, both Iberian drivers managed to sneak into the class lead of this demanding and difficult European championship. Despite they faced some problems at recent events, losing their well-deserved lead at Monza, the Speed Factory Racing duo head to the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya with the biggest motivation with a clear goal in sight: the European title.
“Finally we arrive in Barcelona. The season comes to an end and everything will be decided here, as it is possible to earn 60 points over the weekend and we are ten behind the leaders right now. Their time handicap is fifteen seconds more than us for race one, but anyway everything will get tighter from then on. Both postponed Spa-Francorchamps races will take place here, so we will have a busy agenda here! The championship is being closely-fought, but it´s my home round and it works to our advantage”, Forné comments, highlighting that “the title will be decided by a very small margin but we will try our best”. Fontes stresses that “battle for title remains open. We are very close to the leaders and it is such a great chance to fight for title at home. It´s a very technical racing track fitting our driving style, so we will continue giving the best of ourselves in order to get the title”.
After the private test and free practice sessions on Thursday and Friday, weekend's qualifying session takes place at 9.00 on Saturday. Later on that day first races are scheduled at 12.00 and 16.50, consisting of 50 minutes each. On Sunday two other races at 10.40 and 15.25.
