Mectech Motorsport have confirmed Essex racer Connor Jupp, and will expand their line-up to two cars for the forthcoming Winter Championship, which commences at Snetterton on 8-9 November.
Jupp joined the BRDC F4 Championship for the second half of the 2014 season, showing good progress and making a breakthrough in the final events with several top-10 finishes.
Prior to his graduation to car racing, Jupp enjoyed a successful karting career, claiming multiple championships and racing both in Britain and internationally.
Mectech Motorsport, who could be crowned as Radical European Champions in Barcelona this weekend, joined BRDC F4 earlier this year and have tested extensively across the UK, gathering set-up data and familiarising themselves with the car.
Team Principal Mike Smith comented: “It’s great to welcome Connor to the team and we’re feeling very confident ahead of the BRDC F4 Winter Championship. Connor has demonstrated really strong potential in the four rounds he has competed in and we’re delighted he’s chosen to race with us for the Winter Championship. We’re hoping for regular podium finishes.”
Jupp said: “I really enjoyed competing in BRDC F4 this year and have been very pleased with my development. The Winter Championship is going to be very competitive, but I’m confident that with Mectech I can go on to take my first podium finishes in my car racing career. Mectech have demonstrated how competitive they are with their success in sports cars, and I’m sure they can further assist with my development.”
