Motors TV Weekend Highlights

We’re gearing up for another packed weekend of high-octane coverage on Motors TV, with action coming from as far afield as America, Asia and the Middle East. And as if that wasn’t globetrotting enough, we’ll even be travelling to the rain-lashed backroads of Wales. On Saturday morning we’ve got live coverage of the penultimate FIA World Endurance Championship round of 2014, the 6 Hours of Bahrain, where a number of titles could be sewn up. Anthony Davidson and Sebastien Buemi are almost certain to become the new drivers’ champions, while their Toyota squad stand on the brink of manufacturers’ glory. GTE-Pro also looks set to be resolved, with Ferrari pairing Gimmi Bruni and Toni Vilander close to clinching their championship. However if it’s a tooth-and-nail battle you’re after look no further than LMP2, where the consistent Sergey Zlobin (SMP Racing) holds an eight-point advantage over the ultra-fast G-Drive entry of Olivier Pla, Julien Canal and Roman Rusinov. The GT manufacturers’ crown is also far from secure, with Ferrari leading Porsche by just seven points. The 2014 World Rally Championship concludes this weekend and, as ever, Motors TV will be keeping you up to date throughout the event. Wales Rally GB will see competitors wind their way around commentator-confounding towns such as Llanrwst, Pentrefoelas and Machynlleth. Volkswagen’s Sebastien Ogier has already secured the title and will be looking to end the year with a bang when the final stage concludes on Sunday afternoon. For the first time in its 30-year history, Supercross de Bercy relocates to Lille due to reconstruction work at its traditional Paris Palais Omnisports home. But while the venue has changed the US squad looks as strong as ever, with past Kings of Bercy Justin Barcia and Justin Brayton joined by Eli Tomac, Josh Hill, Weston Peick and Malcolm Stewart. The Americans will be searching for an eighth successive win at the event, where their chief competition is likely to come from the enthusiastically supported French team. Our coverage includes delayed-as-live action from day one, followed by day two live. The 2014 NASCAR Nationwide Series campaign concludes at Homestead-Miami Speedway with live coverage on Saturday evening. The title has already been decided, with teenage sensation Chase Elliot sealing top spot in Phoenix last weekend. His team-mate Regan Smith will be looking to complete a JR Motorsports one-two, but the New York State native still faces competition from Brian Scott, Elliott Sadler and Ty Dillon.V8 Supercars returns to Motors TV this weekend with all three races delayed-as-live from Phillip Island. With two rounds to run the championship seems to be heading in Jamie Whincup’s direction – again. The Triple Eight driver could seal title number six with a strong weekend in Victoria, while the pursuing Mark Winterbottom, Shane Van Gisbergen and Craig Lowndes are seemingly engaged in a battle for runner-up spot.Last but by no means least, Motors TV brings you delayed-as-live coverage of the biggest street circuit event in Asia: the Macau Grand Prix. Taking place on the ultra-fast Guia track, we have action from the Formula 3 and motorcycle races. The F3 contest will see European-based heavyweights such as Esteban Ocon and Max Verstappen looking to end their seasons on a high, while the likes of Roberto Merhi and Stefano Coletti make a one-off return to the category for the event.Ian Hutchinson will be looking to repeat his 2013 victory in the motorcycle race, which ranks among the most challenging two-wheel contests on the planet. However he faces stiff competition from a few old hands, with eight-time winner Michael Rutter and triple Macau victor Stuart Easton both ready to wrestle back their crown. All that and more make for another must-see weekend on Motors TV.Saturday 15 November09:00 FIA World Rally Championship, Rd 13, Wales Rally GB (Day 1)09:30 V8 Supercars, Rd 13, Phillip Island (Races 1 & 2)11:30 LIVE FIA World Endurance Championship, Rd 7, 6 Hours of Bahrain21:00 FIA World Rally Championship, Rd 13, Wales Rally GB (Day 2)21:30 LIVE NASCAR Nationwide Series, Rd 33, Homestead-Miami SpeedwaySunday 16 November09:00 Supercross de Bercy-Lille (Day 1)12:15 V8 Supercars, Rd 13, Phillip Island (Race 3)14:00 LIVE Supercross de Bercy-Lille (Day 2)17:40 Macau Motorcycle Grand Prix 18:35 Macau F3 Grand Prix 22:35 FIA World Rally Championship, Rd 13, Wales Rally GB (Day 3)
