Stage 1 Driver quotes:

Sébastien Ogier (FRA) / Julien Ingrassia (FRA) - Volkswagen Polo R WRC - RC1Good for me, happy with that. Not an easy one, slippy but I'm happy with my time. We missed the last braking point on the first chicane- I expected better grip being first on the road.2. Jari-

Matti Latvala (FIN) / Miikka Anttila (FIN) - Volkswagen Polo R WRC - RC1Not the best time, but now it has started it will be easier for the next stage. There were no problems. I was too careful and hesitant in some areas - now I know the pace.

Andreas Mikkelsen (NOR) / Ola Floene (NOR) - Volkswagen Polo R WRC - RC1It was OK, from where we started we couldn't do too much. We tried to push hard but Seb was very fast. We'll keep trying. That was very slippy, and really difficult. It will be harder to go faster than that.

Mikko Hirvonen (FIN) / Jarmo Lehtinen (FIN) - Ford Fiesta RS WRC - RC1In places it's very muddy. I'm not happy with the set-up, I will try and make changes before SS2.

Mads Østberg (NOR) / Jonas Andersson (SWE) - Citroën DS3 WRC - RC1It was a good first stage - I had a good rhythm. The VWs are going really fast so I need to increase my speed a little bit. It was a good first stage but not perfect. That was muddy but I have a good road position. Hopefully it will clear up over the day.

Thierry Neuville (BEL) / Nicolas Gilsoul (BEL) - Hyundai i20 WRC - RC1We think everything is OK - the car is working well. Difficult conditions, it's getting more slippy, but we'll try to go fast and have fun. The car feels good, it was an inconsistent stage, I'm missing power.

Kris Meeke (GBR) / Paul Nagle (IRL) - Citroën DS3 WRC - RC1I'm very happy, it was a brilliant stage. There were a few places I could have gone quicker but I have a lack of knowledge.

Elfyn Evans (GBR) / Daniel Barritt (GBR) - Ford Fiesta RS WRC - RC1It was a tricky stage, but it's early days and a long rally.

Martin Prokop (CZE) / Jan Tománek (CZE) - Ford Fiesta RS WRC - RC1That was OK, I will try faster - I can definitely push more.

Henning Solberg (NOR) / Ilka Minor (AUT) - Ford Fiesta RS WRC - RC1That was a lot of mud! I tried my best - we have a problem with the heated screen.

Juho Hänninen (FIN) / Tomi Tuominen (FIN) - Hyundai i20 WRC - RC1That was a nice stage, the grip was better than I thought. We had some smooth lines.

Hayden Paddon (NZL) / John Kennard (NZL) - Hyundai i20 WRC - RC1It was a trick stage, there were very few places with good grip.

Robert Kubica (POL) / Maciej Szczepaniak (POL) - Ford Fiesta RS WRC - RC1Muddy places, but plenty of good grip. We took it steady.

Ott Tänak (EST) / Raigo Molder (EST) - Ford Fiesta RS WRC - RC1Tricky in places - we took it safely and we have a good feeling in the car.
