RYE House have named their proposed line-up for the 2015 Premier League season – with World Under-21 Finalist Nikolaj Busk Jakobsen set to join the Rockets. The 20-year-old Dane will make his UK debut and is joined by fellow countryman Kasper Lykke, who returns after a season on loan at Glasgow. Promoter Len Silver said: “Nikolaj arrives with strong recommendations as one of Denmark’s brightest new talents, and his record at U-21 level speaks for itself. He will be living and travelling with Kasper next season.”Steve Boxall and Luke Bowen are back from this year’s Rye team, joining the already-announced Edward Kennett and Jason Garrity with the septet to be completed by Tyson Nelson subject to visa approval.Silver added: “I believe this team to be one of the best we have put to the track since our last League winning seven of 2007, and I am happy to report that every single rider agreed to join the Rockets almost before I had posed the question! Edward Kennett will be proud to lead this septet as captain, and I am proud to present them.”

STOKE are counting the cost of vandalism at their Loomer Road venue which could put a question mark over their continuation in the sport. There has been extensive damage to the referee’s box and audio equipment required for speedway, with fully working systems required for winter activity at the track.Promoter Dave Tattum said: “We can clear the filth and mess caused which even shocked the Police when they came to take details but the replacement of specialised amplification equipment and music play systems is another matter and requires considerable expertise to replace. “The support systems such as the track danger lights to warn riders that a race has been stopped are also affected by what seems to be no more than needless vandalism.“I am appealing for anyone who can help us with any suitable disused second hand equipment to give me a call but I am not quite sure at this moment in time how we are going to rectify this. I would say we have lost two to three thousand pounds worth of audio equipment, maybe even more at today’s prices, and there is severe damage to our JCB with broken glass from every window strewn all over the place. “It could mean the end of the speedway. I don’t exactly know how we will recover from this.”
