Abu Dhabi hosts the final round of the Maserati Trofeo

The Yas Marina circuit, in Abu Dhabi, will host the closing round in the Maserati Trofeo World Series for the second year running. The race weekend of 11-12 December will share the bill with the Abu Dhabi 12 Hour. The most important Trofeo titles have already been handed out: Mauro Calamia, having secured the Trofeo Europa at Silverstone in June, made mathematically certain of the 2014 crown last time out in Shanghai, China. The United Arab Emirates track will see the last three races run, will give the Swiss champion a chance to enjoy a victory parade and decide the other titles still up for grabs. The destiny of the Trofeo Over 50, the Pirelli Single Driver Cup and the Pirelli Twin Drivers Cup is still unknown.

The last three races promise excitement with a competitive field signed up for a starting slot. Those yet to make the podium will be going full throttle, as will the newcomers to the Maserati Trofeo, that is: Angelo Rogari, Norberto Cangani, Romain Monti, Simone Marchetti, Mauro Trentin, Roberto Ragazzi, Roberto Lacorte, Fulvio Ferri, Roberto Benedetti, Stephane Panepinto and Niklas Lilja. Having competed at Spa, Belgian model Angelique Detavernier is making a return and will be the only female entrant at Abu Dhabi.

The last round in the Maserati Trofeo World Series will be an occasion to hold the closing ceremony and hand out awards. The venue for the ceremony will be the exclusive O1NE club, the exotic venue that is a mix of art and technology thanks it housing one of the world’s largest murals composed of 3D projections and paintings by nineteen artists. Visitors to the fashionable location will enjoy the unique experience of entering a world where the projects and artworks constantly change during the evening.

In Italy you can catch Maserati Trofeo World Series races, a few weeks after the event, on Class TV; MotorsTV will broadcast them outside Italy. All Maserati Corse’s social network channels will be kept up to date with the Maserati Trofeo news while Radio Monte Carlo will continue to broadcast from Abu Dhabi.
