BIRMINGHAM have signed up Sam Chapman for 2015 as the Cornishman prepares for his second season in the National League.Chapman rode for Scunthorpe this year and achieved a creditable average of nearly five-and-a-half with the Stags in his debut campaign. He said: “We look like we have one of the strongest teams at Birmingham, and although you never know how things will pan out over the course of the season it’s exciting to be part of a strong team.“We want to be challenging for the title, and so hopefully things can come together well and I can be part of a side competing towards the top of the table. I’m really looking forward to riding with my friend, Harvie Banks, who is in the team with me, and that’s a big bonus for me as well.”

STOKE have handed Shaun Tedham a recall to the Potters after missing out on a team place in 2014.Tedham will rejoin the Loomer Road club next season and benefits from the relaxation of this year’s rule which precluded National League teams from tracking two riders over the age of 30.Manager Malcolm Vasey said: “Shaun is a great lad in so many ways and has bounced back with a vengeance. He is effervescent in his approach and I never met a man more keen to ride for Stoke or any other team I have been at, and as a three-pointer he will take many scalps in Heat 2 next season and will help us spring back to the force that we have been at this level in the past. “I look at the team and I see only riders on a mission. No Prima Donnas, an honest team with the capacity to improve.”
