COVENTRY Storm have named Luke Crang as their No.1 and captain for the new National League campaign.Crang returns to Brandon after missing the second half of last season due to injury and takes over as skipper from James Sarjeant, who will be concentrating on his Elite and Premier League duties and not racing in the third tier.Storm boss Laurence Rogers said: “Luke is convinced he’s ready to make the step up, he’ll start as our No.1 and I also think he’s the most outspoken one in the team and will therefore also be the captain. He’s pleased to take on that role and do what he can to help the younger riders.“Luke had some bad luck with injuries last season when he was riding in the Premier League, but he posted a 7.37 average and he had some outstanding displays. I also expect some friendly rivalry between himself and Dan (Greenwood) for that No.1 spot, they’ll both be going for it and it will all be good for the club.”

CRADLEY have completed the line-up for their National League title defence with the signing of Arron Mogridge, who spent 2014 with Scunthorpe.Mogridge will be going into his second season in the sport after achieving a 4.36 average in his debut campaign, and will be part of a Heathens team looking for a hat-trick of league titles. He said: “I’m over the moon to have signed for Cradley for next season and I’m very much looking forward to it.“The club got in contact with me after seeing Scunthorpe weren’t running (in the NL) to see if I was interested in joining, and I was delighted to be approached by a club like Cradley. It wasn’t long before everything was settled and I was all signed up, so I can’t wait to get going now.
