POOLE star Chris Holder has suffered a suspected broken wrist in a practice crash at the Australian Championships.The former World Champion was preparing for round three of the series at Undera, Victoria, and heavy conditions rendered the abandonment of the session.Holder was taken to hospital for checks on the wrist, which he has previously had plated.(SPEEDWAY 2)

PETERBOROUGH have confirmed Readypower as their flagship sponsors for the 2015 season.The Berkshire-based plant hire business of club owners Rick Frost and Julie Mahoney will revive a long-standing association with Panthers in the new season. Readypower were previously main backers of the club between 2009 and 2013.Panthers chief Ged Rathbone said: “Rick and Julie have done so much for Peterborough Speedway down the years. They have again been a huge help during this winter as we battled to keep the club on track.“They have made no secret of the fact they no longer have time for active involvement in the sport, but we truly appreciate their backing. Their support is both very welcome and very generous, and I’d like to place on record our thanks to them.”

EASTBOURNE have named Glenn Martin as their new team manager as they prepare for their first season in the National League.Martin has previously been assistant to Trevor Geer, who has stepped aside from a day-to-day role with the club in order to concentrate on his own work but will still be available to advise.Martin said: “With the Elite League, I knew the riders and I knew the tracks. It is going to be a learning curve for me as it is for Martin (club chairman) and Connor Dugard.“We will work together and get on with the job and give it our best shot. The team they are putting together looks good. I am looking forward to the challenge.”
