New Ariel Nomad on,off-road buggy to use Yokohama as OE

The latest vehicle from manufacturer Ariel, the Nomad will be fitted with Yokohama tyres from the factory.

The Nomad follows a similar ethos to the Atom, built around an open spaceframe chassis but using outboard suspension with long travel rather than the Atom's inboard set up. It also features a fully 'enclosed' design for improved roll protection and, among many options, a full-length windscreen setting its stall out clearly as an off-road buggy.

It will use a 2.4-litre Honda engine aimed at developing torque for off-road use and will be fitted with Yokohama's most aggressive off-road tyre, the Geolandar M/T+, designed for use on sand and the most slippery conditions. Its large tread blocks and staggered edge design mean it can generate grip in even the most treacherous conditions.

Other tyres to be fitted on the Ariel Nomad include the Yokohama Geolandar A/T-S and Geolander H/T-S, as options depending on the intended use of the vehicle. Yokohama ADVAN A053 gravel rally and A006T tarmac rally tyres are a further option for off-road and competition use.

The Nomad has already been testing on Somerset roads, Welsh forests and on FIA World Rally Championship rally stages with fantastic results.
