Motors TV Weekend Highlights 24,25 January

With North America’s premier sportscar event taking place this weekend, we’re treating you to some live coverage from the 24 Hours of Daytona as well as plenty more from the world of motorsport.Racing fans from all over converge at the TUSCC Daytona 24 this weekend where more than 55 cars will begin the challenging twice-round-the-clock event. Well-known names from a variety of disciplines will battle it out at the sportscar season’s prestigious curtain raiser. Sleep-starved crews and drivers push themselves and their cars to the limit in this standout event on the endurance racing calendar. The FIA World Rally Championship gets underway this weekend in Monte Carlo, and the opening round is set to be a thriller thanks to some of the most difficult conditions of the season. Last year, Sebastien Ogier was forced to dig deep after losing an argument with a wall in stage one meant that ex-F1 star Robert Kubica took an early lead. He’d bounce back over the next two days though to win seven of the 15 stages en route to victory. This year’s event promises to be even more exciting as Sebastien Loeb gets back behind the wheel of a Citroen DS3 WRC. The nine-time world champion will go head-to-head with current titleholder Ogier for a legendary clash of the Sebs. We’ve also got coverage from round two of the Global Rallycross Championship in Washington D.C. where star drivers fight wheel-to-wheel (and sometimes door-to-door) for glory. Meanwhile, brave motorcycle racers head to the Isle of Man for the next instalment of the Road Racing Series, the Southern 100. The nation’s favourite Lincolnshire lorry mechanic, Guy Martin, holds the current lap record with an average speed of 114.245mph over the 4.25-mile circuit. The High Speed Television Channel truly lives up to its name with highlights from this rapid road race. We’re also at the tight, technical Miller Motorsports Park for round eight of the LOORRS this weekend. Series contenders really worth their salt as they battle their way to the top in trucks, buggies and karts. No one ever said off-road racing was a non-contact sport. And if all that wasn’t enough, we’ve also got a season review of the 2014 Asia Pacific Rally Championship, highlights from round four of the Canadian Rally Championship and some NZ JetSprint action from Wanganui. An unmissable weekend of motorsport, we think you’ll agree.Saturday 24th January09:00 FIA World Rally Championship, Rd 1, Monte Carlo – Highlights (Day 1)10:05 Asia Pacific Rally Championship Season Review10:35 Canadian Rally Championship, Rd 4, Pacific Forest Rally13:10 NZ JetSprint, Rd 5, Wanganui (Group A)13:40 NZ JetSprint, Rd 5, Wanganui (Superboat)14:15 Global Rallycross Championship, Rd 2, Washington15:45 Lucas Oil Off-Road Racing Series, Rd 8, Tooele (Pro Lite & Pro 2)16:45 Lucas Oil Off-Road Racing Series, Rd 8, Tooele (Pro 4 & Pro Buggy)18:30 LIVE United SportsCar Championship, Rd 1, Daytona 2422:30 FIA World Rally Championship, Rd 1, Monte Carlo – Highlights (Day 2)Sunday 25th January09:00 FIA World Rally Championship, Rd 1, Monte Carlo – Highlights (Day 2)12:00 LIVE United SportsCar Championship, Rd 1, Daytona 2419:35 Road Racing Series, Rd 6, Southern 10020:35 Road Racing Series, Rd 7, Southern 10022:35 FIA World Rally Championship, Rd 1, Monte Carlo – Highlights (Day 3)
