THE new motorsport season is fast approaching and Rockingham has announced its race calendar, with 2015 is set to be another exciting year of motor racing at the Northamptonshire circuit.
With 14 meetings scheduled between April and October, the fantastic racing line-up once again includes action on both two and four wheels from grassroots motorsport through to the UK’s premier saloon race series.
New to Rockingham this season, 360 Motor Racing Club will be holding the opening round of the 2015 Endurance Racing Series at the circuit on April 18. With an eclectic mix of cars and team camaraderie, the event will feature two three-hour races.
The Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship leads the action on four wheels and will again be the headline race meeting when it returns in the autumn. Rockingham hosts Round Eight of the popular tin-top series over the weekend of September 5/6.
The high-performance teams from the Avon Tyres British GT Championship always brings more than a touch of glamour to the track showcasing some of the world’s exotic supercars and are back on May 2/3. New for 2015, the raising stars of the BRDC F4 Championship will provide the single-seater action.
The British Automobile Race Club (BARC) will raise the curtain on the new season over the weekend of April 11/12, before returning for a second visit in the spring on May 30/31. After a successful debut at Rockingham last year, MotorSport Vision Racing returns on May 23/24.
A firm favourite with the Rockingham crowd, the British Racing and Sports Car Club (BRSCC) are pencilled in for three visits on May 16/17, June 13 and September 19/20. Classic & Sports Car Club provides the nostalgia over the weekend of July 11/12.
Britcar are also back on the Rockingham calendar on October 17, while for those who prefer their racing on two wheels, ThundersportGB returns over the weekend of July 25/26.
