LAKESIDE co-promoter Jon Cook is tipping Danish youngster Mikkel Bech to prove one of the star signings of the Elite League season.Bech has rejoined the Hammers after spending the majority of last season in their colours, and Cook expects him to form a strong combination with Swedish superstar Andreas Jonsson.Cook said: “I believe Mikkel will go top ten in the League averages and combine with AJ to give us the best spearhead we've ever had. He's a very dedicated rider who is here simply to win and be part of a winning team and that suits me perfectly. “Mikkel reminds me in many ways of Nicki Pedersen, whom I had the pleasure of promoting, and I believe he's just about to make the step to the same level internationally. It will be a great pleasure for us as a club to be part of that progression.”

GLASGOW have completed the signing of Richard Lawson in a full transfer deal from Premier League rivals Workington.Lawson was already lined up to ride for the Tigers, who are under new ownership this year, but ambitious chiefs Gerry and Michael Facenna have now made him a club asset, closely following from their purchase of fellow heat-leader Aaron Summers from Redcar.Co-promoter Alan Dick said: “We are thrilled to confirm that Richard is now a fully-fledged Tiger. He's a popular rider with Glasgow fans despite never having ridden for us and he will certainly provide us with that ability to win heats home and away which every club requires from its No 1 rider.“In speaking with Workington it became evident that Richard was for sale, and we quickly decided that there were only benefits from striking a deal to purchase him on a full-time basis. With everything which is going on around the club being so very positive this latest signing is yet another boost to our supporters and just the latest reason to feel very excited about the future.”
