2005 Ford Focus WRC Winning Rally Car
Markko Martin drove this very car to outright wins in both Corsica and Catalunya as well as five times in the top ten during the 2004 WRC season. The car was retained by the Works team and upgraded to 2005 specification for the next season, where it finished three times in the top ten prior to being purchased by our noted vendor, Steve Perez.
A successful businessman and former CBI Entrepreneur of the Year, Steve is also a prodigious National Rally driver and used the car in National rallying in the UK from 2006 until 2009, achieving many outright wins and several National championships. He retired the car in 2009 before sending it back to M-Sport at the end of 2014 for a £50,000 full rebuild.
It is extremely rare that M-Sport sell genuine Works Rally cars and particularly WRC rally winning cars. This is a unique opportunity to purchase a significant piece of motorsport history with impeccable provenance and known history from new.
Interested parties can speak to Managing Director of Silverstone Auctions, Nick Whale.
Estimate (£): 180,000 - 200,000
1975 Datson 260Z Safari Rally Car
Also owned by rally fan and successful driver Perez is this 1975 Datsun 260Z Safari Rally Car. The car was created by Perez to tackle the East African Safari, one of the toughest motorsport events on the planet. Built on a no expense spared basis in 2007, the car has had the benefit of competing in several Safari rally events, culminating in a fourth overall result during the 2013 event.
A consistent top five overall stage performer at the rally, the car offers a unique 'turn-key' opportunity to enter the Safari Rally. The car is offered with a significant spares package and support truck.
A support truck complete with the most extraordinary and comprehensive spares package is included in the sale. A full itinerary will be available at the Race Retro Sale which will include all wheels, tyres, major running gear items and many bespoke and highly specialist components unique to the car and the event.
Interested parties can speak to Managing Director of Silverstone Auctions, Nick Whale.

1969 Chevron B8 DBE 70/023The chassis plate on this B8 indicates that this car is chassis number DBE 70/023. In addition, on the right hand side of the chassis, (adjacent to the gearbox cross member) it is stamped 'AM23'.
In the document file is the French FIA Historic Identity document from 1998 which states that the car was built in 1968. The 1998 document also lists Roger Andreason, Jean Blaton, Willy Mairesse , Laurent Dutoya, Christian and Michael Quiniou and in 2001 Rene Caron as previous owners. The similar 2006 papers also significantly show the car’s owner as the well-known French Driver, Ludovic Caron.
The current owner of Chassis DBE 023, now in Blue livery, has owned the car since May 2007 purchasing it from Paul Ingram, and has entered the car into various European and UK historic events. He has replaced the body work and refurbished the chassis, suspension and Hewland transmission, ensuring the engine has been kept in race ready condition. The car has recently obtained a new FIA 2015 Historic Technical Passport.
This is a very attractively presented B8 and with minor assessment this model would be equipped to embark on a thrilling 2015 racing season.
Estimate (£): 190,000 - 210,000
1995 Audi Quattro Super Tourer - Ex Hans Stuck
Holding a rich history, this ex-works Audi A4 Quattro Supertourer was driven by the legendary Hans-Joachim Stuck in the German ADAC Super Tourenwagon Cup in 1995. Chassis ST07 finished fourth overall in the championship and enjoyed some great races with the likes of Frank Biela, Jo Winkelhock, Roberto Ravaglia and Emanuele Pirro.
In 1996 the car was used by Chris Aberdein in the South African Super Touring Championship and went on to be driven in the Spanish Hillclimb Championship. In 2011, under the ownership of Angel Bello, ‘ST07’ won the Canary Islands Championship. The current owner purchased the car in 2014 and returned the bodywork to the original Hans Stuck STW livery. After an invitation to the 2014 Goodwood Festival of Speed, it achieved 13th overall up the hill against some very exotic machinery.
This Supertourer has a distinguished racing pedigree, finishing second and third at last year's Oulton Park Gold Cup, and is ready to be raced in many prominent events in 2015.
Estimate (£): 90,000 - 110,000
1997 Honda Accord Super Tourer – Ex Tarquini
This 1997 Honda Accord Super Tourer is the first Prodrive built Honda and was driven by Gabrielle Tarquini in the 1997 British Touring Car Championship. Under the superb stewardship of Tarquini, chassis number PRO-ST/H-9701 achieved five podium finishes including a fantastic victory at Thruxton and an impressive sixth overall in the championship for that year. An extensive restoration has recently been completed.
The car, having only covered 500 kilometres, features a 300 BHP Neil Brown built engine mated to a six-speed Hewland sequential gearbox that is new for extended use. The car weighs only 975kg and is impressive on the track and remarkably smooth to drive.
The current owner raced this car last year at various prestigious events, and it is thus eligible to race again in 2015 and can put any prospective buyer on the grid. This model presents a great opportunity to buy a car with instant access to one of the most exciting series in the UK historic racing car calendar. Supplied with a small spares package, a larger package is available directly from the owner at an additional cost.
Estimate (£): 65,000 - 80,000
