SHEFFIELD have confirmed an extension to their main team sponsorship deal with Sheffield Window Centre.The club have been backed by Ian Hunter and his colleagues for several seasons, with that support retained during the change of promotion at Owlerton last winter.Co-promoter Damien Bates said: “Ian Hunter has been a massive help to the new management since we came to the club a year ago.“Sponsorship is a vital part of any professional sport, particularly speedway and we are extremely grateful to Ian and everyone else who supports Sheffield Speedway.”

KENT have announced a two-year team sponsorship deal with SLYDE (Street Life Young Driver Education).The company provide a package of young driver education and driving practice for under-17s and will be bringing their innovative driving school to the large car park at the Kings’ Central Park home as part of the partnership.SLYDE owner and founder Karl Rushen said: “I’ve been involved with racing bikes almost as long as I can remember, racing grasstrack across the south-east and especially in Kent as a youngster and then moving onto speedway at the Iwade circuit in Swale.“It was great being part of a speedway team and I’m really looking forward to being involved again – this time with Kent Kings based at the magnificent Central Park venue, as club sponsor. I certainly intend to be a real hands-on sponsor, getting involved with the riders and fans.”

MILDENHALL have confirmed three ex-Fen Tigers will compete in their season-opening Palmer Trophy 40th Anniversary event.Stefan Nielsen, Brendan Johnson and Aaron Baseby have been named for the March 29 meeting at West Row, and several former riders will also be visiting.Promoter Kevin Jolly said: “The preparations for the Palmer Trophy are moving forward well and I was happy to be able to announce the first three riders on Saturday. On top of that the first names on a very long and growing guest list were announced, Bob Coles, Fred Mills and John Gibbons from when I was a Fen Tiger, plus two from the early 80’s Carl Baldwin and Andy Warne. “We are close to being able to announce some fantastic news on the guest front hopefully early next week. We just need to pray for a dry day and it will certainly be a day to remember for Mildenhall supporters.”
