LEICESTER have completed their line-up with the signing of experienced Polish rider Grzegorz Walasek. The 38-year-old returns to the Elite League for the first time since 2006 when he rode for Poole, and he joins the Lions on a 6.24 average.Promoter David Hemsley said: “We have taken a good look at the riders who have given an indication that they want to race in the Elite League this season and Grzegorz fits the bill admirably. His starting average means that we have built the 2015 team close to the maximum 34 points allowed in total for our top five which just leaves us 0.42 underneath this figure. “Our main priority was to ensure that we had someone who would hold down the third heat leader role to allow Mikkel Michelsen and Szymon Wozniak the opportunity to develop without the added pressure of being thrust into one of the main scoring positions, and in Grzegorz we believe that we have achieved our objective.”(SPEEDWAY 2)

RYE House have added a trio of newcomers to their National League squad to finalise the Raiders’ planning for the new season.Danyon Hume and Alfie Bowtell are set to start the campaign in the one-to-seven whilst fellow teenager George Hunter will take the No.8 role.Boss Andrew Silver said: “Danyon has been a regular at Rye’s training schools and gave some impressive performances in Scunthorpe’s winter amateur meetings, and Alfie is a local lad who has an excellent motorcycling background in motocross. He has taken really well to speedway in the short time he has been racing. “George is of a similar background and grew up riding motocross with Alfie. A home-grown talent, he is our least experienced team member, but worth a place on the merits of the skill and progress he has made.”
