Never Think Twice - Andrew Smith - Yamaha
Early last year I was shocked to receive a phone call from Yamaha's European Regional Director, Andrew Smith.
This is his words about his story with cancer.
"See it, think about it, ignore it ...........carry on!DON'T ignore it ............just DEAL with it!
AND that's what happened ......... nearly twelve months ago after reading Carly's words about Mark's brave and inspiring challenge (several times) I walked off the street into my local Doctors feeling fine (first visit in 7 years and that was for an ear infection!!)...........less than one week later they said ... "Mr Smith you have bowel cancer and require immediate surgery!".....
Reading Mark's story gave me the strength and courage to FIGHT and maintain a positive attitude throughout .......I just asked all my family and friends for .... love and support NOT pity or tears! AND thereafter I got more love and support than I could have ever imagined OR wished for!
I've been VERY lucky ..... timing was key and now I feel better than I have done for years (and a bit lighter and fitter ... well a little bit!!)
Words cannot express how much I owe to Mark and Carly ..........I think daily of Mark and his families courage and spirit which continues to provide inspiration to me .........I have always believed life was for ..... "Living and Giving" and after this experience I believe this even more.
Therefore my message is simple ........... see it, deal with it ......................... THEN "Carry On"
