Meridian Lifts named FIM Speedway GP two-minute clock sponsors

Long-time speedway sponsors Meridian Lifts have stepped up their involvement in the FIM Speedway Grand Prix (SGP) series by becoming two-minute clock sponsors for 2015.

Meridian Lifts, and owners Andy and Joanne Tomlin, have been part of the SGP series, which is promoted by BSI Speedway, an IMG company, since 2003, and have also backed numerous riders and clubs throughout the sport.

The company’s branding will appear on the three two-minute clocks at every FIM Speedway Grand Prix venue this season.

This is prime positioning as fans in the stadium and those watching around the globe count down the seconds permitted for riders to make any mechanical changes, get to the start line and ready themselves to battle it out for World Championship points.

Meridian Lifts served as title sponsors of last year’s Meridian Lifts European SGP at Bydgoszcz and co-owner Andy Tomlin is delighted his company has a presence at all 12 SGP events this year.

He said: “Meridian Lifts have been involved in domestic and international speedway for over a decade and we are pleased to extend our involvement with the FIM Speedway Grand Prix series into 2015.

“The SGP riders never fail to excite and we can’t wait to enjoy another competitive season in the battle for speedway’s biggest prize.”

BSI Speedway managing director, Paul Bellamy, said: “It’s great to have Meridian Lifts back again.

“They have been very loyal to the SGP series and we look forward to maintaining the great relationship we have built with them over the past 12 years, as we bring the sport’s elite riders to bigger and better stadiums around the world

“The two-minute clock is a real focal point throughout a meeting and, as riders and fans count down those precious seconds until tapes up, the Meridian Lifts name takes pride of place.”
