For the first time, the event will merge the popular genres of classic and rock, in what is set to be CPOP’s most widely appealing music offering yet.

On Friday 12th June, rock and pop cover entertainers, the RPJ Band, will take to the stage, emulating legends from Nirvana and Kings of Leon to Robbie Williams and Bryan Adams. Frontman, Rick Parfitt Junior, will also be competing on the racetrack throughout the weekend.

The following night will see former X Factor contestants, Tenors of Rock, thrill the crowds with their amazing vocal range and stunning harmonies. The five talented individuals have toured the world extensively and will perform a mix of classic tracks such as Nessun Dorma and rock hits including Sweet Child O’ Mine and God Gave Rock N’ Roll To You.

James Hall, event director at CPOP, commented: “We’re pleased to be able to confirm two great bands for the evening entertainment this year. With both the RPJ Band and Tenors of Rock performing a wide range of hits covering multiple genres, we’re sure they will get the crowd rocking. We wanted to ensure 2015’s music offering would appeal to everyone, something we feel this line up will achieve.”

Liz Doogan-Hobbs MBE, promoter and producer LHG Live CEO, said: “Each year we are working with CPOP to develop and grow what music can offer to this amazing festival. We’re sure the balance of Tenors of Rock with the might of their repertoire and the fantastic party rock night planned with the RPJ Band will complement the land, air and water activity perfectly.”

The music will start at 6pm each night, half an hour after racing finishes and party-goers can rock the night away from the lawns below the Castle. Food and drink will be available to purchase on site.

The eighth staging of CPOP will celebrate ‘power’ on land, air and water with events including a 1,000bhp-plus class on the famous Cholmondeley track. The festival will honour the Lotus marque on Friday, American Muscle cars on Saturday and Eighties supercars on Sunday.

In addition, the world’s only flying Vulcan will be taking to the skies above Cholmondeley, with the Red Bull Matadors entertaining the crowd with an aerobatic display.

The above, combined with camping and hundreds of exciting trade stands, will make CPOP the family-friendly motorsport event of the summer.

More event details will be released in the coming months. This year’s Friday and Saturday CPOP tickets include the evening concerts. Tickets are now on sale at www.cpop.co.uk for the event at Cholmondeley Castle, Malpas, Cheshire.
