The Argentinae driver received an invitation from Status Grand Prix to test one of their cars at Bahrain International Circuit on Thursday (only half a day) and Friday
Facu Regalia, two days after testing with Zeta Corse at Motorland Aragón, has been invited by Status Grand Prix to join the squad for the collective testing taking place in Sakhir. 23-year old Regalia already knows the outfit led by Mia Sharizman as he tested for the Canadian team in the GP3 Series, which also knows his value as a racing driver.
After receiving a call from the Canadian team enquiring about his racing programme for the upcoming season, Regalia travelled to Sakhir shortly after finishing his World Series by Renault test in Alcañiz. Regalia will drive the Status Grand Prix car for the first time today, only half a day, and then on Friday carrying out a full-day testing programme.
Both sides are engaged in ongoing discussions to pursue an agreement where Regalia could be one of its drivers for the GP2 campaign in 2015. This test in Bahrain will be used to assess the possibility of arriving at a mutual agreement.
Facu Regalia: “This is great news. It was a nice surprise coming out of the blue. Besides at Bahrain International Circuit, which I really love after my first taste there last year. I will try to get the most out of this chance. Status Grand Prix is a very professional team, and they want to work with me, so it is nice and I am so honored to join the team in Sakhir for the final collective test. This week will be useful to draw conclusions”.
