Round 3: North Wales Rally Service, Weir Laundry Equipment, Rally North Wales, 28 March
Luke Francis and co-driver John H Roberts mastered the conditions on the Rally North Wales to take their first win of the season.
Francis returned to the rest halt stating that failed wipers and a misting screen hampered his progress, although his times suggested otherwise, with a two-second lead over Bob Ceen.
Mist and fog greeted crews for the afternoon run but it was a lack of brakes that cost Ceen on the opening afternoon test, spinning and hitting a bank hard. Francis consolidated while Ceen fought back on the last test to retake second. Ieuan Rowlands maintained position just ahead of an intense Group N battle between Roland Llewellin and Paul Davy.
