Motorsport at Crystal Palace 2015‏

23 April 2015: Motorsport at the Palace - in association with the Ancaster Group - is delighted to announce a number of exciting new attractions for this year's event, to be held on 24-25 May.For the first time, classic motorcycles, sidecars and scooters will take to the track for parade demonstration laps during the course of the show. Many of the motorcycles and riders featuring in the parades raced at Crystal Palace in the 1950s and '60s, and famous names in attendance will include Joe Dunphy, Bill Hodgkins and Colin Seeley.Among the static displays, visitors will find an extremely rare MotoGP Ducati ridden by Loris Capirossi and a stunning MZ GP motorcycle, raced in the 1960s by the famous East German rider Ernst Degner.This year's event will also see the unveiling of a very rare Aston Butterworth Formula 2 car, which has been hidden away for over 50 years. Current owner, Gerald Philbrick, has chosen Motorsport at the Palace to reveal this unique car, returning it to the venue where it last raced 62 years ago, almost to the day.In addition to the exciting on-track action, visitors will be able to enjoy a rare collection of racing karts from the 1950s, '60s and '70s, alongside a host of attractions and displays to keep visitors of all ages entertained, including children's fairground rides, electric karts, the ever-popular Diggerland, and the on-site Ancaster showroom.As always, the friendly paddock will be open to visitors, enabling people to get up close to the cars and chat to the drivers before they take to the track. :: Motorsport at the Palace 2014 raised over £3,500 for local charity St Christopher's Hospice. :: Since 2010, Motorsport at the Palace has raised over £17,000 for local charities.:: Advance tickets are available from the website at a discount rate of £8.00.
