Motors TV Weekend Highlights 9,10 May

As per usual, there’s another bout of wheel-to-wheel action coming your way this weekend on the High Speed Television Channel.

Let’s start with Euroformula Open, the Spanish-based pan-European F3-style championship, which we’re showing live! With two events down, things are hotting up in the standings with only five points between the top three drivers. Tune in to find out what happens in Portugal as round three kicks off at Estoril.

Straight after that, we’re moving away from single-seaters with live coverage of the International GT Open, which also heads to Estoril for its second round of the year. Following the season opener at Paul Ricard, two driver pairings are neck-and-neck in the standings on 36 points so they’ll definitely be fighting for victory in Portugal. That’s especially true of Teo Martin Motorsport duo Miguel Ramos and Alvaro Parente who will be looking for glory at their home race. We’ve also got some two-wheeled action from the pinnacle of global motocross, the MXGP World Championship. Vamos a España for the sixth round of the championship. There’s drama in the MXGP paddock though, as American motocross star Ryan Villopoto will sit out another Grand Prix due to injury. His title dreams are pretty much out the window now as he’s currently 90 points behind leader Max Nagl – and that’s a lot.

Next up, the TCR International Series. That’s right, we’ve got more delayed-as-live coverage from the international touring car series, meaning you won’t miss a moment of door-banging action. There’s no rest for the wicked as the championship goes straight to Portugal only a few days after racing at Valencia, where Stefano Comini managed to extend his advantage over Gianni Morbidelli by 15 points, while Pepe Oriola is hot on his Italian heels in third.

We’re also bringing you highlights from the Audi Sport TT Cup season opener at Hockenheim. This championship pits 18 guest drivers against each other at some of Germany’s best circuits behind the wheel of TT Cup cars – a racier version of the Audi TT.
