GP2,GP3: TRIDENT prepares for first European round of 2015

Every racing season has its pivotal rounds. The special weekends, the turning points for the work of an entire team. One of them, for Trident, is the Grand Prix of Spain which is scheduled for the next weekend at Circuit de Catalunya, a few kilometers away from Barcelona. The Iberian event will be the first one for the complete team in 2015 as the GP2 and the GP3 Series will run jointly for the first time of the year. For the GP2 Series, the Montmelò round will be the second one after the Bahrain opener, while the GP3 Series will be lining-up for the opening round of the year after the preseason testing session were held at the same venue.

Trident is heading towards Barcelona with five drivers. Raffaele Marciello and René Binder will race in GP2, while Artur Janosz, Luca Ghiotto and Óscar Tunjo will run in GP3. These highly-skilled combinations confirm the attention received by the team during the winter, in the key moment when the rosters for the following year are defined. Marciello and Binder will line-up at Montmelò after the Bahrain opener didn't end up according to the expectations, with many unlucky breaks and zero points achieved. But the whole experience has now been dismissed and the Trident stable are looking forward to a much more positive European stint.

The GP3 Series will go underway for a most-anticipated 2015 season opener. Teams and drivers have been working for the last few months, and preseason testing highlighted the great shape of 20-year-old Ghiotto, making his full-time debut with the team after his appearance last year at Spa-Francorchamps. Tunjo, a 19-year-old from Colombia, will be running for the first time in the series as well as Polish rookie Janosz, coming from a good run in the 2014 Euroformula series.

The upcoming weekend will be tight and fast-paced, and the team is set for a session-by-session, race-by-race approach. At Barcelona, Trident will also host a traditional gathering with the international media covering GP3, GP2 and Formula 1. It will be a relaxed and easy-going evening: the print and TV journalists will have the chance to meet with the team's drivers and be informed about the year-by-year plans of Trident.
