Round 4: Plains Rally, 16 May
Hugh Hunter and Andy Marchbank scored maximum championship points for the second time on the Plains Rally.
In total 167 crews left Welshpool to tackle six classic Mid Wales stages in near perfect conditions. Hunter set the pace early on as erstwhile championship leader Bob Ceen slipped off the road in Gartheiniog.
Several crews reported punctures in Penllyn but Hunter was able to consolidate his lead. Jamie Anderson snatched second place from Luke Francis, while Karl Simmons’ challenge ended in service with mechanical problems.
