BIRMINGHAM host Eastbourne in the first leg of their National League KO Cup quarter-final at Perry Barr on Wednesday. The Brummies are unbeaten at home since the opening night of the season but know they need to build a lead ahead of the second leg given the Eagles’ form around Arlington this season. Both sides operate rider-replacement with Sam Chapman still sidelined for the home side whilst Richard Andrews misses out with a broken thumb for the visitors.Birmingham chairman Tony Mole said: “We’ve had some terrific meetings against Eastbourne down the years and it’s one our riders and fans always look forward to.“Eastbourne have got a very strong team this year and it certainly looks as though it’s going to be an entertaining meeting for the supporters.“I think we have what it takes to win our home leg, but we need to win by a pretty big margin to give us the best possible chance of making progression in the Knockout Cup.”(FIXTURES)
