Team Kibos and MML Sports take another win in Africa‏

Team Kibos, with driver Jassi Chatthe at the wheel of the MML Sports-prepared and run Mitsubishi Lancer EvolutionX R4 car, has taken another win in the FIA African Rally Championship and now leads the series convincingly.

The Zambian International Rally was the third round of the FIA regional series and as it did on the previous round, the SASOL Rally in South Africa, the Team Kibos car, driven by Chatthe and partnered by British co-driver Craig Thorley, dominated the event.

They assumed the lead of the three-day rally from the third timed test and controlled the event from the front, requiring only fuel and tyres to be fitted to their EvoX R4 throughout the rally.

By the time they reached the finish ramp, they had built a lead of more than four minutes to their nearest competitor and assumed a clear lead in the overall ARC points standings, 14 points ahead of former ARC champion Jassy Singh.

Commenting, MML Sports Managing Director John Easton said; "I am delighted that Jassi and the team took another emphatic win in the African Rally Championship. Clearly the work we have done with the team has helped bring Jassi's performance on and he has really taken to the new system of pace notes he has developed with Craig.

"I am also very pleased with the pace and performance of the car. As we have already seen several times this year, the R4 specification of the EvolutionX works extremely well - it is quick and it is reliable and the results are clear to see with the lead in both the ARC and the KnRC."
