Trident GP2 Series Feature race review

The teams and drivers of the GP2 Series just completed their Feature Race in the beautiful frame of the Monte Carlo Principality. The two Trident drivers raced with great pace and consistency, without committing a single mistake. The race results saw Marciello end up into the points zone and Binder finish in P11. Tomorrow's Sprint Race will hand the Team a good opportunity as the Italian will take-off from the pole position.11 - RAFFAELE MARCIELLO

Marciello started off with as superb performance in qualifying. Under a hefty rainfall, he managed to end up in first place of his group and that led him to a second place in the overall starting grid. Lello, starting from the front row, immediately took the lead and held it until the round of compulsory pit-stop in the first half of the race. In the second part, race control decided to call the virtual safety car two times and that enabled the drivers who had started on the Pirelli Prime tires to go for their late pit-stop in favourable conditions. With 10 to go, Marciello found himself in 8th place with nothing to be done to improve. He eventually crossed the line there, scored his first points of the season and took the pole spot for the Sprint Race.

 12 - RENE BINDER

Unlike Marciello, Rene had a tough start for his Monte Carlo Weekend, as his qualifying didn't end up in the best possible way. On a track where is notably difficulty to pass, he was forced to start the race in 20th. But his Feature race was perfect, as he didn't commit a single mistake with a precise and clean drive. The car's set-up enabled him to keep a quick and consistent pace. Last but not least, the strategy chosen by the team paid its dividends. Despite the virtual safety car condition, Binder improved up to the 11th place. The position is particularly valuable for Rene as it gives proof of his capabilities, and demonstrates his desire of top-class results.
