Pata European Junior Cup descends on Donington

Round four of the 2015 Pata European Junior Cup, powered by Honda, visits Donington Park in the UK this weekend marking the halfway point in the eight-round series.

Thirty identically-prepared Honda CBR650F machines will take to Donington’s 4.023km of sweeping, undulating curves and tight hairpins as the European Junior Cup continues to support the 2015 World Superbike championship as the perfect junior proving series for future champions.

The three rounds completed so far have produced the thrilling racing for which the EJC has become renowned, with Spain’s Javier Orellana embroiled in a battle at the top of the points table with Italian riders Emanuele Pusceddu and Paolo Grassia.

Five female racers, including local UK wild-card rider Charlie Oakland, will also line up on the European Junior Cup grid for Sunday’s 10-lap Donington Park encounter as they contest the inaugural FIM Europe Women’s European Championship.

Gerry Bryce - EJC series director It’s good to get to Donington – a kind of home race for many of the EJC crew – on the back of another exciting race at Imola two weeks ago. We had a number of fallers there so yesterday was a busy day getting bikes ready for today’s practice sessions. But we’re all really looking forward to this round because Donington is such a brilliant circuit – a real riders’ track that always produces great racing, so I’m sure the EJC competitors will love it. We have a consistent group of front runners now but it looks like it’ll be a great battle to the end of the season between Javier Orellana and Emanuele Pusceddu.
