The Barry Sheene Race & Rally Festival Powered by Suzuki once again returns to Oliver’s Mount for a fantastic weekend’s racing and parading.
2015 is a very exciting year for us as Suzuki GB have become the title sponsor of this event for the first time. With their demo’ truck based in the biker’s village, Oliver’s Mount fans will be able to see plenty of new bikes and accessories on the Suzuki stand along with a couple if very special bikes.
The biker’s village also play’s host to a large display of classic bikes which include; the Benelli Owners Club, the Suzuki Owners Club, International Laverda Owners Club and the Yorkshire Coast British Motorcycle Club who will have all their bikes on display as well as parading. There will also be an Opening Ceremony by the Suzuki Owners Club to mark the event. Circuit partner www.sorrymate.com are using the Barry Sheene Festival Powered by Suzuki as the starting point for their 1001 Charity Cycle Ride in aid of Air Ambulance on the Sunday. Fergus Dalgarno from Sorry Mate, has taken this challenge on and will be riding 1001 miles on his bicycle to raise money for the Air Ambulance.
Racing legend and 6 time World Champion Jim Redman will be in attendance alongside other racing legends including Mick Grant and Chris Palmer. There will be a chat show held on the Saturday and the Sunday with Jim Redman, Mick Grant and Chris Palmer where fans of all ages have the opportunity to meet the prestigious riders.
With the TT over for another year, Guy Martin and Dean Harrison look set to be making a return to Oliver’s Mount to compete in the Barry Sheene Race Festival. With their bikes all set and ready to go, the final preparations are now taking place. Oliver’s Mount fans can meet and chat with Northern Ireland’s Lee Johnson – who last week earned his first TT podium and lapped at almost 131mph – at this weekend’s Barry Sheene Race & Rally Festival Powered by Suzuki when he will be racing a Heron Suzuki in the Classic Formula One class.
The action starts on Saturday morning at 10am with parading and the racing starting at midday. On the Sunday practice starts at 9am with racing starting at 1.45.
