Cowton Takes the Spoils at the Post TT

Driffield's James Cowton, the current Duke Road Race Rankings Champion continued his efforts to retain the Geoff Duke Trophy, taking a double victory at the Post TT Road Races, round 8 of this years series.

Held on the Billown Course in the Isle of Man, home of the International Southern 100 Road Races, the Yorkshireman opened his account with a 3.654 second victory over fellow Yorkshire rival James Coward after a closely fought battle in the opening laps, with yet another Yorkshireman Adrian Harrison filling the third podium place.

The second race featured the popular SuperTwins, in which the same three fought for the honours, with Cowton again taking the chequered flag, this time from Harrison with Coward third.

In the final feature race for Superbikes it was Manxman Ryan Kneen who dominated proceedings with a 5-second victory, this time over another Yorkshireman, Mark Goodings with Londoner Mark Parrett third.

Whilst Ian Hutchinson remains the current leader of the Duke Rankings 2015, his advantage has been reduced to 64 points by James Cowton who moves up seven places into second, demoting seven times winner Ryan Farquhar to third.

Jamie Coward climbs four spots to 11th, whilst Adrian Harrison rises eight rungs to 21st position.
