New Zealand Supersport Champion, Alastair Hoogenboezem, will partner Uruguay's Maximiliano Gerardo at the Racedays Honda squad for the Misano, Jerez and Magny-Cours rounds of the FIM Europe Superstock 600 Championship.
This will be the first racing trip to Europe for the 22-year-old Hoogenboezem and he is looking forward to racing in the highly competitive support class to the eni FIM World Superbike Championship. Maxi Gerardo arrives at Misano following an impressive race at Portimao where he finished ninth and set a new lap record, previously unbroken since 2009.
Alastair Hoogenboezem:
“I’m really excited for the challenge ahead, the experience it will become and being able to compare myself to some of the best young riders in the world.”
Maximiliano Gerardo:
“I’m more than happy with the race at Portimao. I didn't have a good first lap and ended up in a big battle to finish ninth but we took the lap record which shows we are competitive and I have a good pace to fight for a top position.”
Gerry Bryce - team principal:
“We're very pleased to welcome Alastair to the Agro-On WIL Sport Racedays team. It will be a challenge with a new bike and new circuits, but he has adapted well in the past with some great results at new tracks and we're confident he will put on a good performance. Maxi had a great race at Portimao to claim his first top ten finish in what is a very competitive championship. He also broke the five-year-old lap record, which really shows his potential. Hopefully we can continue to progress at Misano this weekend and target a top five result.”
