After the well-deserved victory in Russia in the last round of the 2015 FIA World Touring Car Championship, WTCC, Tiago Monteiro is highly motivated for this weekend's event in Slovakia, the Portuguese driver firmly focused on continuing the path of good results.
Holding firm to fourth place in the Championship, Tiago is now aiming to continue consolidating the position as he puts the recent developments on the Honda Civic to good use: "Last year was not an easy race so hopefully we can avenge that this weekend. The team's and my own motivation are on the rise, so it is important that we take advantage of that. This circuit is very demanding but we have important references that will help us find the best possible set-up. However, we cannot forget that we will have an extra 60 kg ballast and this certainly won't help us! " he said.
The last few weeks have been quite demanding, in addition to his WTCC races, he also took part in the 24 hours of Le Mans. "I loved it and I don't feel tired. Le Mans was another good experience but it is the WTCC where I have to focus all my attention. Adding points is important to continue to see me up among the best of the others. Reaching the podium would be an exceptional outcome, but it will not be easy," he concluded.
Eurosport will broadcast the event with qualifying delayed on Saturday at 15:30 and live racing on Sunday at 11.30h and 12.30h.
