The Austrian GP2 Series weekend didn't go according to plans for Trident as both cars crossed the finishing line outside the points zone. At the same track where, during the 2014 season, the team had scored valuable points and a sensational race 2 win, the Trident stable was unable to finalize their effort with a much hoped for result.11 - RAFFAELE MARCIELLO
It's been a tough race for Raffaele Marciello and for Trident at Spielberg. While the expectations were really high given the great result scored in Race 1 last season at Red Bull Ring, this year things didn't go as expected. Yesterday, the car's potential was confirmed in qualifying when Raffaele, despite the traffic he found in the first part of the session, was able to take 6th place on today's starting grid. At the start, with Prime Medium tires, Raffaele was quick and stayed among the top-4 when a Virtual Safety Car was called. When the situation ended though, he was in an area without indications so he lost valuable ground and several positions. In the second part of the race he stopped for the tire change, moving to the supersofts. Unfortunately though, a lug nut got stuck and extended the pit-stop. The Italian racer's day was then conditioned and he eventually recovered up to 15th after getting back to the track in 18th.

After a tough qualifying session that brought him a 17th place on the grid, Rene was off to a brilliant start that promoted up to P13. Unfortunately, during the opening lap, the car he had behind rear-ended him with an unfair move in turn 2. His engine went in anti-stall mode and that lasted for some seconds, enough to push him to the back of the field. His race restarted from 21st, from where he was able to fight back to P17.
