Josh Daley secured his best ever weekend in the Motorpoint British Supersport Evo Championship this weekend at the Snetterton 300 Circuit. The youngster gained an eighth in race one and sixth in race two in the Evo class and a fantastic career best 11th overall in race two.
Josh really did come on leaps and bounds at Snetterton this weekend and in each session he was improving his times and took off 0.6 from his time last year. His Dad Andy and Josh worked hard throughout the weekend making several changes to the Kawasaki to get a good set-up for the 2.9-mile circuit.
Josh qualified in 20th place on the grid and was eager for a good result in race one that afternoon, a rain shower before the race saw the circuit become a little greasy. Josh got a bit boxed in on the start and dropped back to 14th Evo after lap two but he soon got his head down and started to make progress through the field and worked his way up to 8th at the flag, finishing just outside the main Supersport points in 16th.
For race two he moved up to 17th on the grid and was 10th Evo after the opening lap, once again he got stuck in going 1.3 faster than he did at Snetterton last year and also secured fourth fastest Evo rider in race two. He was dicing with Sam Coventry and at the end of the 15 laps finished a fantastic sixth place in the Evo race and 11th overall.
Josh Daley - "It was a really enjoyable weekend at Snetterton. I was able to go faster than I ever have round the circuit by 1.3 from last year. I was able to be consistent all weekend with my times in every session and this was a huge confidence boost. In the main feature race I did a time of 1:53.9 which was a really good achievement for me, I feel like we've really made progress and am moving forwards in the right direction now. It's really kind of people to give me their help and advice as when it is just me and my Dad it is quite difficult.
To come 11th overall in the main race is just an incredible feeling, it's put a huge smile on my face and I owe all of it to my Dad and his never ending help. I managed to get my best ever result on Father's Day and I hope it's a good present for him!"
