Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo: Disappointment for Isaac Tutumlu

After Tutumlu's performance during theopening stint and moving up to third, his teammate Anttila was forced to retire as another rival, one lap down, collided on the last lap and damaged the suspension. Only twenty meters away from the finish line, the Lamborghini Huracán of Leipert Motorsport was forced to retire.

Isaac Tutumlu has not managed to achieve the goals set for Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo round at Paul Ricard. This time, the Barcelona-born racer was in podium contention but a crash caused by another driver when Finland's Jesse Anttila was behind the wheel forced them to retire from the race.

Tutumlu made the opening stint and, 9th on the grid, moved up to 3rd. The Spaniard delivered an extremely positive and long stint before heading into the pit lane. With Anttilla rejoining fourth, the Finnish young ace battled with Fabrizio Crestani for third. But a rival, one lap down and lapped by Anttila previously, collided with the Leipert-entered car. Extensive suspension damage forced them to retire when at least fourth place was an achievable goal.

“It was incredible we couldn´t finish as another car collided with Jesse. At least that fourth place would have been a good reward. That was really bad luck for us. Focusing on positive aspects my race pace was like that set by mucho more experienced drivers, considering it was my fourth race in the series, it is an interesting and motivating fact”, Tutumlu commented.

The Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo heads to Spa-Francorchamps on 22-26 July, in the frame of the 24 hours of Spa.
