Garrity and Lambert named British FIM Speedway GP track reserves

GARRITY & LAMBERT GET CARDIFF CALL

Great Britain talents Jason Garrity and Robert Lambert have been named as track reserves for the Adrian Flux British FIM Speedway Grand Prix at Cardiff’s Millennium Stadium on July 4.

They join GB stars Tai Woffinden, Chris Harris and wild card Craig Cook in the field for world speedway’s flagship meeting.

Coventry and Sheffield star Garrity stormed to fourth place in the British Championship Final at Wolverhampton on June 15, only missing out on the rostrum after a fall.

He was a key player in the Bees’ charge to last year’s Elite League Grand Final and continues to play a key role as the club challenges for the title again this year. He dons the No.17 race jacket in Cardiff.

Meanwhile, King’s Lynn and Peterborough favourite Lambert lines up at No.18 after a sublime start to this year for both clubs.

His efforts earned him his Monster Energy FIM Speedway World Cup debut for Team Great Britain, and he impressed with seven points in Event 2 at King’s Lynn on June 8 and eight in the Race Off at Vojens on June 11, where he collected two heat wins.

The duo will only be called into action should one of the main 16 riders be forced to miss a race through injury, illness, a starting offence or other reasons.

In a change to the main line-up, Poland’s Jaroslaw Hampel has withdrawn from the Adrian Flux British SGP after breaking his leg during Monster Energy SWC Event 1 in Gniezno on June 6.

His place is taken by Danish international Peter Kildemand – this season’s SGP first reserve, who dons the No.19 race jacket.

The referee for the Adrian Flux British SGP is Krister Gardell from Sweden.
