Sixth place for Porsche Mobil1 Supercup rookie leader Matteo Cairoli

Matteo has constantlydeveloping and with his sixth place on the circuit of Silverstone he gains advantage in the Rookie rank.

The most crowded race of the Porsche Mobil1 Supercup 2015 season was held this weekend, with a record of 30 competitors – thanks to the participation of 7 guest drivers from the British Carrera Cup.

Matteo Cairoli, at his first time on this track, showcased his ability to become familiar quickly with a new circuit.

Starting from the fourth line of the grid, he managed a good start and taking advantage of Lukas’ going off track he immediately gained one position. His competitor hooked an advertising billboard with the front of his Porsche and retired.

During the first half of the race, Cairoli managed to stay on Engelhart’s heels but the lead group began to lose its compactness and the distance from the driver racing in fifth position grew lap after lap. Having lost the contact with the first five drivers, Matteo had to run his race and to avoid mistakes in order not to lose his sixth place.

Matteo was closely followed by Zoechling and Ledogar but he judged the situation very well and managed to gain advantage over his competitors to cross the finishing line in sixth.

His progress and constant development have lead from an eighth place in Monaco, to a seventh at the Red Bull Ring and a sixth at Silverstone

This is a very important performance for the Rookie championship as with this final result, Matteo is the first of the Rookies and these ten points allow him to gain the leadership of the championship rank, with an advantage of two points over Ledogar.
