Honda Racing confident ahead of Brands Hatch BSB

Honda Racing team is preparing for round six of the MCE British Superbike Championship, which takes place this weekend (17-19 July) at Brands Hatch in Kent.

Honda’s Jason O’Halloran knows the 3.916km Grand Prix circuit at Brands Hatch well and last year was victorious at the track, winning the final race of the 2014 Pirelli National Superstock 1000 championship.

The Australian rider had a positive last round at Knockhill with two fifth place finishes onboard his Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade machine and hopes to make further progress towards the front of the pack this weekend.

Team-mate Dan Linfoot will be hoping to put the results from Knockhill behind him and build on the positives from the Scottish round, in a bid to get back into the running for a Showdown place. The 27-year-old is currently eighth in the championship standings, just 32 points outside the Showdown.

Jenny Tinmouth is looking to further improve at the GP circuit after an encouraging outing in Scotland, which saw her finish 18th and 22nd. The Cheshire-based rider is building confidence on her CBR and is looking forward to the weekend ahead.

I’m really looking forward to getting back out on the Fireblade this weekend for the sixth-round of the championship. The GP circuit is one I really enjoy riding at and I think the CBR will be fantastic around. Last year my season really came alive at this round, so I’m looking to put Knockhill and the results there behind me and I’m confident I can ride well and bring back some points this weekend. Sunday’s race will be exciting with the ‘King of Brands’ challenge, so looking forward to seeing what we can do and hopefully I’ll have the choice of choosing between the front and back row!

Dan Linfoot

We had a good positive round at Knockhill; I qualified for the first time this season and finished 18th and 22nd in both races, so it was a step-forward. My confidence on the CBR is building round-by-round and I can’t wait to get out there at Brands on the GP circuit. It’s a great track and one I absolutely love riding at, so I’m hopeful with my team we can progress more, be part of qualifying again and hopefully score some more top-20 finishes.

Jenny Tinmouth

I’m definitely looking forward to this weekend more than I was going to Knockhill! The Brands Hatch GP circuit is such a great track and I can’t wait to get out on the Fireblade and start getting some laps in! We’re really making progress now and every time we finish a race we’re closer to the front, so I’m looking forward to seeing what I can do at the weekend and hopefully come away with some more solid points towards the Showdown – another podium finish would be quite nice too!
