South African Rally ChampionshipFour Volkswagen Polo cars in the top ten

At the fourth event in the South African Rally Championship, four Volkswagen Polos made it into the top ten. The South African duo Hergen Fekken/Pierre Arries of Volkswagen Sasolracing finished fifth in the Polo in Port Elizabeth, followed by team-mates Henk Lategan/Barry White (ZA/ZA) and Gugulethu Zulu/Hilton Auffrey (ZA/ZA). Paulus Franken/Henry Kohne (ZA/ZA) won the S1600 class in the Volkswagen Polo and were ranked eighth in the overall classification. The rally was scheduled to include twelve special stages. However, it had to be ended early after the tenth stage due to heavy rainfall. In the overall standings, Gugulethu Zulu/Hilton Auffrey are the top Volkswagen drivers and are currently in fourth. The next event in the South African Rally Championship will be held in Gauteng (ZA) on 14 and 15 August.

Volkswagen Polo Cup RussiaSilantyev wins fourth event in Rostov

Mikhail Silantyev/Sergey Skripka won the fourth event of the Volkswagen Polo Cup Russia. The Russian duo won the demanding gravel rally around the Central Russian city of Rostov in Yaroslavl Oblast, in which only two of the six cars that started saw the chequered flag. Yuriy Uryukov/Sergey Volkov (RUS/RUS) were second to cross the line behind Silantyev/Skripka. The rally was held over two days and included many fast passages and demanding jumps. The competitors had to complete a total of six special stages covering a total distance of 80.85 kilometres. The next event in the Volkswagen Polo Cup Russia will take place from 7 to 8 August in Vyborg (RUS).
