Dean Harrison achieved a double victory at the Cock o'the North Continental Road Races, round 14 of the Duke Road Race Rankings 2015, held at Oliver's Mount Scarborough.
Heavy rain caused qualifying to be delayed for an hour - officials and marshals taking an early lunch break.
Qualifying over the race programme got underway with conditions good for racing current leader of the Duke Rankings this year Ivan Lintin opened his account with a 24-second win in the SuperTwin race from current champion James Cowton with Jamie Coward third.
Next up was the first race for the Superbikes, which saw a dual between Dean Harrison and Ivan Lintin, with Harrison taking a 5-second victory from his rival.
Jamie Coward then took the race win in the Classic F1 race run concurrently with the Classic F2 machines with Paul Owen claiming first place.
Dean Harrison took his second win of the day in the Supersport race after a race-long battle with Ivan Lintin, which ended when the latter slipped off at Mountside Hairpin on the final lap.
And that was the end of the racing for the day, after a massive oil spillage on the approach to Farm Bends, firstly delayed further action for over an hour and a half, when after consultation with a number of the riders, the Clerk of the Course, announced that the remainder of the meeting was being abandoned for safety reasons.Dean's two wins elevates him two places to third, 154 points adrift of James Cowton in second, whilst Ivan Lintin's single win helps him maintain his position at the top of the Rankings 256 points ahead of the current Duke Champion.
The next round is the Armoy 'Race of Legends' Road Races in Northern Ireland on Friday and Saturday 24th & 25th July.
