KCMG aiming for points in Super Formula and JF3 challenge at Motegi

KC Motorgroup Ltd. (KCMG) returns to Twin Ring Motegi to tackle two of Japan’s highly contested formula series, Super Formula and All-Japanese Formula 3 Championship, on August 22-23. Yuichi Nayama and Struan Moore are looking to build on the momentum they had following the Fuji outing in July, where both drivers made another step forward in terms of pace and performance.

Nakayama is primed for the fourth event of Super Formula, which will be held at a venue where he has raced and won numerous times as a JF3 driver. Following his impressive display of skill in the #18 blue and white SF14 last month, the Hong Kong-based outfit is confident that the Toyota-backed driver will be on the pace early and can deliver strong results throughout the race weekend.

Jersey-born driver Struan Moore traveled back to the Land of the Rising Sun for JF3’s penultimate event at Motegi and moreover, was appointed as the new ambassador of the British Embassy’s “Innvation is great” campaign in Tokyo. Moore is eager to get back in the car and is set to pull out all the stops to challenge for championship points on Motegi’s 4.8km road course.

Yuichi Nakayama: “I’m really looking forward to this race at Motegi as it is a track I have done quite well at in the past. It will be great to build on the progress that the team made at Fuji and I am eyeing to conclude this race weekend in the points.”

Struan Moore: “This weekend marks the penultimate round of this campaign and last time out at Fuji, we made another step forward in terms of performance. I'm amazed at how quickly the year has gone and I'm ready to put everything I've learnt from this year into practice at Motegi. My aim is to qualify within the top 5 again and maintain a consistent set of results at the front. I'm hoping to get the car dialed in as quickly as possible on the Friday test and prove my speed throughout the weekend once again."

Ryuji Doi, KCMG Head of Motorsport: “The team has worked consistently in developing Yuichi and Struan’s cars and our aim is to round off the Super Formula and JF3 races at Motegi in the points. It is one of the circuit’s where both Yuichi and Struan have displayed strong form, we’re confident that they will wrap up the weekend with positive results.”
