Tiago Monteiro looking forward to Thailand WTCC round

From October 31 to November 1, the penultimate round of the 2015 season 2015 will take place on new ground when for the first time in its history, the FIA World Touring Car Championship, WTCC, will race in Thailand. Just like most of his racing colleagues, Tiago Monteiro doesn't know anything about the Buriram International Circuit, so the event will be a great challenge for the entire FIA WTCC field. The Honda Civic # 18 driver is hoping to score big points in Thailand to help bring further success to the colors of Honda, Jas Motorsport and his own in the Constructors and Drivers championships.

The program for the Thai week-end will be slightly different to the normal habits of the WTCC. Qualifying and both races will take place on the same day, Sunday, while Saturday will be reserved for free practice.

Tiago Monteiro is expecting to work hard to prepare for the Buriram round... "I do not know much about the track but from what I do know, it should not be very favorable to our package. It is a circuit with two long straights, which should penalize us over our opponents, especially as we will have an added 40kg ballast on board. We will have to try and adapt to best manage this event, including the weather, as temperatures are high and humidity levels will also play an important role," said Tiago.

For the Portuguese driver, the objective of the upcoming two days will be just as clear as it has been at previous rounds... "I want to regain fourth place in the championship. I am currently 13 points away and 110 points remain to be distributed. Everything is possible and I will give my best to collect as many points as possible."

Eurosport will broadcast both races on Sunday, November 1, at 9:15 a.m. and 10:15 a.m. ET.
