KCMG aim for Asian Le Mans Series victory at Sepang

KC Motorgroup Ltd. (KCMG) heads to Malaysia for the second event of Asian Le Mans Series at Sepang International Circuit, which will be held from November 6-8. The team will once again field their stunning Porsche Carrera Cup car in the GT Am class. In line with this, the Le Mans winning Hong Kong-based squad has announced that 2015 Asian Formula Renault champion Dan Wells will share driving duties with Paul Ip and Christian Ried in KCMG’s latest effort in the premier Asian sportscar endurance championship’s forthcoming three-hour challenge.Ip, Ried and Wells will share KCMG’s #51 Porsche on Sepang’s 5.543km Formula 1 circuit. With a new opponent entering the GT Am field, the team is looking to conclude a strong outing and ultimately clinch victory. Recognised as the most prestigious sports car endurance racing series in the region, Asian Le Mans highlights a 4-event calendar, which will be held on premier circuits around Asia. Following a successful season opener at Fuji Speedway in Japan, the championship’s second and final round will be staged at Sepang International Circuit, Malaysia, while the series’ highly anticipated maiden outing at Buriram International Circuit, Indonesia will take place in January.Paul Ip: “I'm happy to be back in the car and to race here at Sepang. The track is highly technical and conditions will make the race more challenging. I’m confident that we can deliver top results with the crew and driver line up that we have. More so, the series gets interesting as we’re up to face a new competition in the GT Am field.”Christian Ried: “I’m excited to race in Asian Le Mans second event with KCMG at Sepang. We had a great race at Fuji and I’m confident that we will have a strong outing again.
